Your MeshChat account is a key pair that lives on your own device — Moonstream Tech has no server and keeps no copy. That is why the account is deleted from the app, with your key, and not by us.
Delete in the app
- Open MeshChat (you need to be connected to the internet).
- Go to Ayarlar (Settings) → Kimlik ve güvenlik (Identity & security).
- Tap Hesabı sil (Delete account), type your username to confirm and tap Hesabı sil.
Lost your phone? Sign in on any device with your key file, username and recovery code, then follow the steps above.
What is deleted
- A deletion record signed with your key is sent to the network. Every MeshChat device that receives it removes your profile (name, tag, photo, about) from search, frees your name#tag, stops accepting messages for you and drops encrypted messages it was carrying for you. The account can never be brought back.
- All MeshChat data on the device you delete from — keys, messages, photos, contacts and settings — is erased immediately.
What may remain, and for how long
- Messages you exchanged that are stored on other people's devices remain there until they expire, 30 days after they were sent, or until those people delete them.
- Key files or chat backups you saved yourself (for example to a cloud drive) stay wherever you put them; delete them there.
- Moonstream Tech keeps nothing, except e-mails you sent us (for example reports), which we delete when they are no longer needed or on request.
If you cannot open the app or lost your key file
Without your keys nobody — including us — can prove ownership of the account or delete it on your behalf. Such an account is deleted automatically: when none of its devices has been online for 90 days, every MeshChat device treats it as deleted. For help, write to moonstreamtech@gmail.com.
