Hop across the lily pads, catch flies with your tongue and watch the sky for storks. Play Classic, Zen or Time Attack, dress Ribbo up and chase your best score on the leaderboard.

Ribbo the frog hopping between lily pads

About the game

Ribbo: Pond Hopper is a retro pixel-art arcade game about a small frog, a big pond and a sky full of storks — and it is in development right now.

Hop between lily pads and flick your tongue at flies. Storks dive straight, at an angle or on a curve, and their shadow is your only warning. After 25 flies a pike starts leaping out of the water too. Spend the flies you catch on colors, hats, costumes and new maps.

You can play without an account. Signing in with Google is only needed if you want to join the leaderboard — and you can delete that account at any time.

Email support

Please include your phone model, Android version and the game version (shown at the bottom of Settings).

How do I play?

Walk with the ◀ ▶ buttons and jump with the round button — tap it again in the air for a double jump. Tap the pond to shoot your tongue at a fly. Watch for stork shadows and, after 25 flies, the pike leaping out of the water. On a keyboard: arrow keys or A/D to walk, Space or ↑ to jump, click to shoot, Esc to pause.

What are the game modes?

Classic is the full game with storks and the pike. Zen has no enemies — just you, the pond and the flies. Time Attack gives you 60 seconds to catch as many flies as you can. Classic and Time Attack have their own leaderboards.

Do I need an account?

No. Everything works without signing in. An account is only needed for the online leaderboard and is created when you tap Sign in with Google in the game.

Why can’t I sign in?

Signing in needs an internet connection and Google Play services. Some phones (for example recent Huawei models) do not include Google Play services, so sign-in is not available on them — you can still play everything else. Sign-in is also only available in the Android app, not in the browser version.

If it still fails, update Google Play services, check that the date and time on your phone are correct and try again.

How do I change my player name?

Player names are generated automatically so the leaderboard stays friendly. Open Settings → Account and tap New name to get a new random one.

What are the ad buttons for?

A small banner is shown at the bottom of the screen, below the controls. All other ads are optional: watch one to continue after a game over (once per run), to double the flies from a run, or to get 20 free flies from the main menu, up to five times a day. If an ad fails to load, check your connection and try again a little later.

How do I change my ad privacy choice?

Open Settings → Privacy options to review or change the choice you made in the consent form.

Will I lose my progress if I change phones?

Flies, looks, maps, missions and settings are saved only on your phone, so they are removed if you uninstall the game or clear its data and cannot be moved to a new phone. Your best scores on the leaderboard stay with your Google account until you delete it.

How do I delete my account?

In the game: Settings → Account → Delete account, then tap again to confirm. Without the app: see Account and data deletion below.

The game is slow or the screen looks blurry.

Lower the CRT effect in Settings or turn it off; it is the most demanding part of the game on older phones.

How do I report a bug or suggest an idea?

Email moonstreamtech@gmail.com with your phone model, Android version, the game version and a screenshot or video if you can.

Scope

This policy explains how Ribbo: Pond Hopper for Android, made by Moonstream Tech (“we”, “us”), handles information. It applies only to this game; the general Moonstream Tech Privacy Policy covers the studio as a whole.

Data on your device

Your progress — flies, purchased colors, hats, costumes, tongue upgrades and menu backgrounds, unlocked maps, missions, best scores, the daily free-fly counter and settings such as language, sound, music and the CRT effect — is saved only in the game’s local storage on your phone. It is never sent to us. It is removed when you clear the app’s data or uninstall the game, and it cannot be restored or moved to a new phone by us.

Data we collect

You can play Ribbo without an account. We only collect data if you choose Sign in with Google to join the leaderboard. In that case we process:

  • Google account identifier and email address, received from Google when you sign in, to create and secure your account
  • basic Google profile details that may be included in the sign-in token, such as your name and profile picture link; we do not show or use them in the game
  • player name, generated automatically (for example TinyFly84) and shown publicly on the leaderboard; you can re-roll it with New name
  • best scores for Classic and Time Attack, with the run length and the date they were set
  • account dates (created, last updated) and technical sign-in data such as session tokens and the IP address of requests, kept by our backend provider for security

We use this data only to run your account and the leaderboard, to keep them secure and to prevent cheating. The legal basis is the performance of the service you asked for (contract) and our legitimate interest in keeping the leaderboard fair. Your player name and scores are visible to other players; your email address and Google profile details are never shown and never shared.

We do not sell your data, do not use it for advertising and do not combine it with data from other sources. Ribbo currently has no in-app purchases, no analytics and no crash reporting.

Advertising and consent

Ribbo is free to play and is supported by ads from Google AdMob. The game shows a banner ad at the bottom of the screen, below the controls, and rewarded ads that you choose to watch: to continue after a game over, to double the flies from a run, or for 20 free flies from the main menu (up to five times a day). There are no full-screen ads you have not chosen to watch. You can change your consent choice at any time with Settings → Privacy options.

When an ad is requested or shown, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect and process, on Google’s behalf:

  • your device’s advertising ID and other device identifiers
  • your IP address, from which an approximate (coarse) location can be derived
  • device and app information such as model, operating system, language, app version and network type
  • ad interactions such as impressions, clicks and whether a rewarded ad was completed
  • diagnostic data such as SDK errors and performance information

This data is used to deliver, measure and limit the frequency of ads, to prevent fraud and, where you allow it, to personalise ads. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, the game asks for your choice with Google’s consent form (User Messaging Platform) before personalised ads are shown. If you do not consent, Google may still show non-personalised ads, which use contextual information and limited data for measurement and fraud prevention.

The data collected by AdMob is controlled by Google under the Google Privacy Policy. See also: How Google uses information from apps that use its services.

Third-party services

  • Supabase (Supabase Inc.) — hosts the accounts, player names and scores, with row-level security so that each player can only change their own data. Supabase Privacy Policy
  • Google Sign-In and Google Play services (Google LLC) — confirms your identity when you sign in. Google Privacy Policy
  • Google AdMob and the User Messaging Platform (Google LLC / Google Ireland Ltd.) — banner and rewarded ads, and consent.
  • Google Play — downloads, updates and, if you choose, Play’s own backup of app data.

These providers act on our behalf or as independent controllers under their own policies. Data may be transferred to and stored in countries outside your own, including the United States and the European Union, protected by the providers’ safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses. All connections are encrypted with HTTPS.

Permissions

  • Internet access — for the leaderboard, sign-in, ads and the consent form.
  • Advertising ID (AD_ID) — to deliver and measure ads.

The game does not access your contacts, photos, files, camera, microphone or location.

Retention and deletion

Account data is kept for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account in the game it is removed from our database immediately; requests by email are completed within 30 days. Residual copies in our provider’s encrypted backups are overwritten within 30 days. Data on your phone stays until you clear the app’s data or uninstall the game. Google keeps advertising data according to its own retention periods.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live (for example under the EU/UK GDPR, the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK) or US state privacy laws), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. You can also:

  • play without signing in, or sign out at any time in Settings → Account
  • delete your account and leaderboard data instantly in Settings → Account → Delete account, or by email — see Account and data deletion
  • change your ad consent choice in Settings → Privacy options
  • reset your advertising ID or delete it in your phone’s Settings → Google → Ads (or Settings → Privacy → Ads)
  • uninstall the game, which removes all data stored on your device
  • email us at moonstreamtech@gmail.com to exercise any of your rights

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

We may update this policy when the game changes, for example when a feature or service is added. The “Last updated” date will change and, for significant changes, we will let you know in the game or on this page. The Moonstream Tech Privacy Policy applies to all our games and complements this policy.
