About the app

MeshChat is a messenger without a middleman. Phones running MeshChat connect to each other directly and carry each other's messages, sealed so that only the recipient can open them.

There is no server that stores your chats, no account tied to your phone number, no ads and no tracking. Your keys stay on your device; a key file and recovery code let you take your account to a new phone. Free, with no ads and no purchases. The app is currently in Turkish.

Core features

6 reasons to switch

  • 01

    End-to-end encrypted.

Every message, photo, reaction and read receipt is encrypted on your phone. Only the person you send it to can open it.

  • 02

    No servers. No sign-up.

No phone number, no e-mail. Your account is a key pair created on your device, and devices carry each other's messages.

  • 03

    Find people by name#tag.

Share your name#tag and anyone can find you. Change your name or tag whenever you like — chats are not affected.

  • 04

    Everything a chat needs.

Photos, replies, reactions, edit and delete for everyone, typing indicator, read receipts, online status, pin and mute.

  • 05

    Reaches people who are offline.

If your friend is offline, devices that are online keep the encrypted message for them — for up to 30 days.

  • 06

    Gone after 30 days.

Messages and photos are deleted automatically on both phones. Unused accounts are deleted after 90 days.

How it works

Simple to use.
Hard to snoop on.

  1. 01

Create an account in seconds: pick a name. Save the key file and recovery code the app gives you — they are your way back in on a new phone.

  2. 02

Share your name#tag, or search for a friend's. Tap their name and start chatting.

  3. 03

Your message is encrypted on your phone and travels device to device. One tick: sent. Two ticks: delivered. Blue: read.

  4. 04

Compare the safety code with your friend once, and you know nobody is listening in.
